Overview
- Long-term partnership since 2021 evolving into official NHS supplier status.
- More than 80 videos produced and 45 projects completed.
- Over 20TB of content recorded, equalling 32,400 minutes of footage.
- Recent project feature: a life-saving safe-sleeping campaign to raise awareness for SUDI.
The Challenge
When an NHS Trust sought a videographer to tackle the creation of training and campaign videos, they needed to find a team that could offer not just creativity, but also the ability to meet strict compliance and privacy requirements.
Not only would any potential video agency need to plan and execute shoots in busy healthcare environments, they would also be tasked with bringing a level of creative flair to each project and expanding the reach of key messages to a broad audience.
One of the Trust’s recent key projects was to raise awareness of Sudden Unexpected Death in Infancy (SUDI) via a safe sleeping video campaign.
Our Approach
Affinity Media began working with the Trust in 2021, forging a partnership built on collaboration and expert support. Our first project involved filming on a maternity ward, which required careful planning and adherence to healthcare regulations.
Since then, we’ve continued to work on more than 45 projects. Though our experience means we can now confidently navigate NHS regulations, we treat each new project with the same professionalism and attention to detail.
Acting as an expert resource for the communications team, they bring us their potential briefs and we offer advice, suggestions, and solutions to get the project underway.
“Working with Affinity Media has been an extremely positive experience. They are not only highly professional but also personable, making collaboration smooth and enjoyable.
The team’s work ethic is truly outstanding, consistently demonstrating a level of dedication and commitment that sets them apart.
The team’s ability to listen to project needs, coupled with his proactive approach to offering creative solutions and ideas when challenges arise, ensures that every project runs efficiently and successfully.”
For the SUDI video campaign, our collaborative, expert-led approach was instrumental in helping us to scope and successfully navigate the challenges associated with filming infants and young children.

The Results
Our work with the Trust has evolved from a single project into a long-term partnership. Across 45 projects to date, we have shot over 32,400 minutes of footage and created over 80 videos as we help County Durham & Darlington NHS Foundation Trust communicate with the public and internal teams.
Crucially, our approach to video means that every project has been created with the Trust’s goals in mind. From increasing social media engagement to driving visits to specific webpages, our videos have helped the Trust achieve its goals.
The videos produced by Affinity Media have enriched the Trust’s social media presence by offering valuable, visually engaging content. These videos not only help raise awareness of the services provided but also encourage sharing and interaction, expanding the reach of key messages across a wider audience.
The clear, informative nature of the videos has driven more interaction with the Trust’s website, particularly in areas such as booking appointments or learning more about health campaigns.
By providing straightforward, helpful information, these videos have encouraged viewers to take action, such as scheduling appointments or signing up for screenings. The combination of visual storytelling and informative messaging has proven to be an effective strategy for driving positive outcomes across multiple campaigns.
What really sets them apart is how they make the process feel like a true partnership, with genuine collaboration from start to finish. Their ability to listen, adapt, and provide creative input ensures that the final product not only meets but often exceeds expectations.
Recently, we’ve been honoured to work on a safe sleeping campaign involving infant actors – a new challenge that our team was able to quickly adapt to and deliver a professional, attention-grabbing campaign that transmitted a clear message. You can see how that project came together in this video:
